Charter is sending these as if they're self signed, but they aren't self signed. See how the Gmail certificate includes the entire chain, going from GeoTrust Global CA, to Google Internet Authority G2, and then finally. For BOTH the Time Warner as well as Bright House certificates. Charter isn't sending the intermediate information, or the chain of the certificate.

Dates are good, it's just not verifying that Symantec can be trusted because they aren't including the intermediate certificate of Symantec which they should be. Turned off Avast, and the cert still fails, Thunderbird or Google will still not accept ether the Bright House certificate or Time Warner Cable certificate. checked the cert that worked and it's coming from Avast. Going to try pulling the cert and see what changed, but I think it's all good to go now.Įdit 2: Nevermind.

We can only hope.Įdit: Just tried again and it's working. Hope you all are having a great Thanksgiving and maybe this will be sorted out by Christmas. And now I still cant get mail even though the dates are now valid. If I can do it on my own production server myself, there's no reason for Charter to be messing it up, and even worse for them to not even realize it's broken for a week plus. The certs even have a monitor script that automatically renews them for me, and I get an email if that fails for whatever reason. It's really not that difficult to do it right. Every single site has a fully valid SSL cert, and yes even the mail server on IMAP. Multiple websites with an Apache virtual host server and even a mail server, subdomains, forums, whole nine yards. I have my own personal websites on an Amazon rented server with the Linux Foundation's new Let's Encrypt certificate authority. I can't believe how they're having so much trouble with an SSL certificate. We continually get errors from POP and IMAP clients. > Message: ssl certificate on expired 17th and HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED. > The following individual has completed a contact us form. > Bright House Networks Central Florida Customer Care Feedback Form: If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us by replying to this email or calling 1-85.
